Episode summary
Seven demons, based on the Seven Deadly Sins, are released into the world and the brothers must combat them with the aid of a married Hunter couple.

Fun and viewer review
This was a great concept! Even if it did become obvious to me, during the department store murder, what the pattern was going to be with these black cloud demons. I also liked the human realism of Isaac's reaction to the Winchesters. Yeah, I know! There were other super-birthday boys and girls who came to that ghost town. And, if Sam had been killed there, one of _them_ would have gone on to open the Demon's Gate, instead. But, try telling that to a Hunter, like Isaac, and he probably would have replied: "That's the same cop-out used by drug dealers!" Even so, it's the sin of pride that led him and Tamara into that demon bar without scoping it out, first (as Dean would say). And, it cost them dearly.

Episode summary
Sam and Dean track down Changelings that are pursuing mothers and their children. A boy they protect bears a strange resemblance to Dean, which at first makes Dean uncomfortable because he once had a one-night stand with the boy's mother Lisa.

Fun and viewer review
A vast improvement over the season opener. Although the *ex starved broter is getting a bit tiresome the writers had their heart in the right place. Exciting in parts...and behold no fights between the brothers. I'm partnered with a realtor so I found the last part very amusing. The ending with more information coming out regarding the mother of our cute intrepid brothers is a welcome addition to the lore of the show. I like the character "guiding" them, she is malevolent and spritited at the same time. Writers: Please keep up this type of writing for the show and we could have a better season then I would have thought.

Episode summary
The brothers investigate a town where the citizens have turned to drinking and gambling. Meanwhile, Bobby gets an unexpected ally as he attempts to rebuild the Colt.

Fun and viewer review
This is a strange episode, at least for me. The premise was fascinating but, in the end, something is not clicking right. I mean: the first part is as cliched as it gets and the so-called sins this Ohio city is sinking in are no more than a grittier version of what one can see in a "Gossip Girl" episode; the second part, on the other hand, is interesting and the relationship between Dean and Casey!Demon is well built and believable. Furthermore, their conversations enrich the show's mythology (this is the first mention of Lucifer and the first time we get to know Yellow Eyes' real name) and the gentle nod toward "Hell in the Pacific" is not only nicely done but also extremely effective. Nevertheless, I still can't understand why Ruby showed up in "Sin City", just to repair the Colt, and the whole Trotter business was a tad too far-fetched: I mean, no sin could disrupt a city in two months just because someone opened up a brothel. It was nice to see Don Davis though: he's such a terrific actor! All in all, this episode is pretty weak in my opinion and it is the only "Supernatural" episode I would rate under 7. It is saved by Dean and Casey segment, but the rest isn't quite at par with it.

Episode summary
The brothers capture a female vampire named Lucy who has no idea how she became one, which leads them to Dixon, a male vampire who is a little too giving. Gordon returns with a vengeance leaving Sam in danger.

Fun and viewer review
Gordon got exactly what he deserved, especially after torturing Lenore and killing his sister. And hunting Sam. Hunted and killed by Sam, after being turned into a vampire and killing the closest thing he had to a friend in the world. No pity for that psychopath.
I found the pairing of Gordon and Kubrick interesting. Gordon is a cold atheist while Kubrick is driven by faith. It was a fitting end for Kubrick as well.
But of course it's the main storyline that makes this episode so good. It was gratifying to see Sam finally call Dean out. But on the other hand, it is so irritating/heartbreaking watching Dean hurt Sam like that. It leaves him so weak and vulnerable. Which is just what you know who wants.

Episode summary
In this Christmas-themed episode, Sam and Dean follow the trail of an "anti-Santa" that abducts its victims by using their chimneys. Dean tries to get Sam to celebrate Christmas like they used to but Sam doesn't want to accept that it could be the last one they'll spend together.

Fun and viewer review
It might just be me, but I found the scenes in this episode to be the most disturbing ones since The Benders of the first season, maybe because the pagan gods are portrayed as humans, and quite creepily happy humans at that. The Christmas setting makes for an excellent bout of creepy horror-torture show, and the scenes that are meant to freak you out really work. Other than that it was nice to finally see a seasonal episode. The flashback worked well, the actors were excellent as per usual (the old couple was especially brilliant) and it flowed nicely. The level of angst amongst the boys was evened out pretty well, so it didn't drag out too much as has been a tendency in earlier episodes, imo.

Episode summary
The seemingly harmless practices of a group of neighborhood witches goes bad when one of them kills a woman. Ruby offers her assistance... but she has a few secrets of her own.

Fun and viewer review
This episode was hilarious. So much funny lines. Ruby of course livens things up with saving Dean's life. After he repeatedly called her a b***. Ruby is so awesome. And we learn a whole lot more of her in this episode. She was human once. All the demons were. That was pretty big. She was around when the plague was big. And finally she was a witch back then. The other demon girl was funny too. I'm so glad she died. I am also glad Renee died. Then Ruby & Dean bonded & it turns out there is no way to save Dean out of his deal. What are the Winchesters going to do now?

Episode summary
Good not great. After a few strong episodes the series comes up with a so-so episode. I did not like the coma angle, especially since the coma patient seems like she just came from a day at the spa. The actor who played the "bad guy" was very good and all, but the episode just never really jelled and seemed to meander all over the place. But I can excuse a just a good episode after the previous 3 episodes were so strong. Hopefully the episodes to follow are stronger then this average and not so thrilling episode. Up next.

Episode summary
Dean is killed after looking into a case about the disappearance of a man with Sam. The next morning, Sam is shocked to find Dean alive and is hit with the realization that he is reliving the day before.

Fun and viewer review
This is a great episode and it shows what a amazing actor Jared Padaleki is. The amount and range of emotion that he shows is incredible. This episode also shows what great writers Supernatural has. They are able to take a concept that has been used many times, turn it on its head and make something new. Funny, suspenseful and very entertaining.

Episode summary
FBI Agent Henricksen finally captures Sam and Dean, but is caught in the middle when a horde of demons descends on the small-town jail to eliminate the brothers.

Fun and viewer review
This felt like a good mix between Gunfight at O.K. Corral and the sprinkler scene in Constantine. Honestly the entire series shares similar themes with westerns. The action in this episode was right on; it had great energy and a nice rhythm. And the mass exorcism was genius.
Henricksen is one of my favorite characters. He's strong, brave, and definitely sexy. I love how he remained calm and took control of the situation while the other members of the law freaked. I was sad to see him go of course, but the writers seem to have a good sense of when to kill off a character. I couldn't imagine them being able to use him again (except as a spirit in the 4th season, but I'm still not sure I liked that).

Episode summary
Whilst investigating the haunted Morton Mansion, Sam and Dean run into a couple of familiar faces and become inadvertent participants in a new reality show named Ghostfacers. As events turn deadly and the team are trapped in the house, the investigation becomes a battle to survive until morning.

Fun and viewer review
I just started watching Supernatural 6 days ago -- I've done nothing but work my way through seasons 1, 2 and 3. I am currently listening to this episode but not watching because the shaking-asred home-video thing is pissing me the hell off. If this show hadn't been 900% kick awesome up until now, I would be done. Cas in season 4 better make up for this terrible episode. I watch to see Sam and Dean kick-butt, not Ed and Harry wave cameras around and high five. >:I

Episode summary
The town of Milan, Ohio, is plagued by a series of calls where the victims are contacted by dead loved ones, and urged to commit suicide. When Dean and Sam investigate, Dean gets a call of his own and the two brothers are soon at odds.

Fun and viewer review
Man this episode was good. I liked the demon he was pretty cool. I thought the episode really knew how to keep your interest and not bore you to death like fear itself and other bad poser horror shows. So Dean tried to talk to his dad huh? i thought it was pretty interesting when he kept getting the phone calls. I liked how the guy was told that his daughter was killed by Dean, and the fight scene was pretty good too. Did this episode have some kind of message or something? about community and strength i mean it might have. I don't know

Fun and viewer review
This is where we part company with Bella. I really like her character, and now she is been packed up and sent to hell. I know she tried to kill our boys, but she had little or no choice if she wanted to save herself. We get back story on her just to see hunted down by hell hounds. What a horrible way for her to go. She had a very sympathetic story, and probably deserved to get out of her contract much like Dean.
Lilth got to her when she was a child. What was Bella supposed to do in her situation. Could we expect to her to really understand the implications of her deal, or fault her for trying to end her own personal hell.
