Fun and viewer review
this 1st episode was not all that bad as most people really think. i liked how we meet mick and understanding how hot and sensitive he is. and we also get to know his love interest that is beth the reporter. she seemed to really got into likeing mick so quickly. And meeting josef, well he was pretty freaky which for a start is kind of cool. josef was always into sucking peoples blood and he will never stop but unlike josef mick never bit anyone. well atleast when it go to the year 2000. but i already understand that he used to suck peoples neck back in the early 80's which was ok i guess.

Episode summary
Mick faces an unpleasant part of his past when he learns a convicted murderer with some confidential information is being released from prison. It seems that the killer is threatening to reveal Mick's undead identity.

Fun and viewer review
I thought the pilot was alright, but this episode really showed where this show is heading. The storyline was good, well thought out, with a clever villian and an ending that left you wanting more. :)
Character development continued nicely in this episode, revealing more about both Beth and Mick's characters. Mick is obviously very protective of Beth and women in general, as illustrated by this episode. He also has a bit of a temper, which becomes more and more obvious. His vulnerable side shows at the end of the episode, not wanting Beth to see him in his vampire state, obviously ashamed. Amazing acting from McLoughlin there, as I just wanted to rush into the screen and hug him.
Beth was marvellous in this episode too.Still a little unsure on Mick, but she can't stop thinking about him. The tension is slowly building between these two. This one also showed that Beth is willing to put her career on the line to help a friend, by harbouring Mick in her house, and willing to defy her boyfriend. She also puts herself in danger to save Mick.
The ending was cleverly done by the writers. Beth finding out Mick is a vampire? She is shocked and confused, he is vulnerable and scared. Good relationship builder. Literally dying for next weeks episode now. :D
Only complaint is the car scenes. It's a little too obvious that a green screen is behind the actors, making them look like they've been pasted into the scene as an afterthought.
This show is going places! ;)

Episode summary
Beth decides to help Mick locate and stop a newbie vampire who can't control his bloodthirst.

Fun and viewer review
This was a wonderful episode! The entire episode was written very well, and the action scenes were incredible! I think that this was one of the best episodes so far in the series, which isn't saying much considering there were only two episodes before this one. The acting was wonderful, and the plot was even better! It was cool to learn that there were a couple hundred vampires in LA, not to mention the fact that there is a cleaner vampire whom other vampires call when there is a body that needs to be disposed of. This has to be one of my favorite episodes!

Episode summary
Mick is injured while finding a young girl who is supposedly hiding in the desert. Due to scorching sunlight and immense heat, Mick is depleted of his vampiric ability to heal himself. As a result, Beth will have to take drastic measures to save Mick's life.

Fun and viewer review
I still think that this is the best episode that has been made so far. The plot was well written and Leni was a great guest character. The ways that Mick reacted to things such as being shot and being in the desert sun taught me more about the physical limits of vampires as well as showed us that Mick is capable of extraodinary endurance and self control. Beth's reaction to Mick's apparent death revealed slightly her true feelings not only to Mick but also her boyfriend. Action, suspense, romance, crime, and vampires. What more could you want in a show?

Episode summary
While searching for a missing escort, Mick discovers a teenage vampire who is hunting female escorts he finds on the Internet. Meanwhile, Beth tracks down a story about a dead prostitute. While Mick trys to avoid Beth after drinking her blood, their paths cross and they eventually team up to find the killer.

Fun and viewer review
A brilliant episode that encompasses the growing bond between Beth and Mick. The plot is sound and brings the two leads together in a realistic situation. This is done in order to display their growing bond. This episode helps to integrate Beth into Mick's everyday life, and brings her into contact with Konstantin, who plays an important role in Mick's life. This adds to the potential of the growing relationship between Mick and Beth. This episode also delves more into the fears on vampires. Through the anguish of the teenage vampire in his inabilty to ever 'grow up' and Mick feeling his pain we are able to see in more intricate detail the way Mick's mind works. His hopes and fears. I believe this to be a great episode for character growth. Especially as we see Beth acknowledge the special and growing bond between Mick and herself.
